Cotuit Solar can design, install and commission complete turnkey systems for your home or business. We have many satisfied customers for both our installations and our service work. We take the hassle out of systems modeling, incentive application, design and installation.
At Cotuit Solar, we are always happy to involve RE system owners with their installation as much as possible. We feel that it is optimal to involve the ultimate users of the system in it's mechanics and construction, enabling them to maximize savings, know-how & appreciation. It's your job!
SOLAR POOL HEAT is the most cost effective solar application. Often under $3000 per installation, these lightweight, tried and proven systems will produce the equivalent of up to $2000 worth of natural gas heat per year foran average residential pool (8'X 30' collector). We strongly encourage ANY pool owner to investigate the possibilities of installing solar pool heat, saving them money and us all a little air to breathe. For more information: http://www1.eere.energy.gov/solar/sh_basics_pool.html and http://www.solarindustries.com/
SOLAR HOT WATER uses the sun to heat the water that comes out of your tap, otherwise known as "domestic hot water". Solar DHW systems are cost effective investments, very reliable and long lived. A typical household system has ~80 square feet of panels mounted on the roof, facing south. Water or antifreeze is circulated from the panels to a tank in the basement. Zero cost metered systems for larger installations are available. For more information on SDHW see: http://www1.eere.energy.gov/solar/sh_basics_water.htm
WIND POWER & PHOTOVOLTAICS... These electricity producing renewable energy systems currently have significant rebate programs in many states. Typically "grid tied" or "net metering", these systems feed electricity back into the incoming power line, running the meter backwards: http://www1.eere.energy.gov/solar/net_metering.html . They can also be off grid or battery back up for power failures. Wind turbines provide an attractive source of renewable energy. Many parts of New England, Cape Cod for instance, have excellent average wind speeds: http://www1.eere.energy.gov/windandhydro/wind_research.html. For a review of wind turbines available see: http://www.homepower.com/files/hp90-50.pdf

SOLAR SPACE HEATING...These larger solar systems tend to be for the more advanced energy conserving buildings. They are able to provide a significant heating contribution to a building that has already had ample attention paid to the insulation/sealing of it's shell or envelope. They will also provide a virtually unlimited source of hot water in the non winter months. http://www1.eere.energy.gov/solar/sh_basics_space.html
THE ENERGY GRID Providing Internet Marketing Services to the Renewable Energy Industry. For more information see: http://theenergygrid.com/grid/
Two big issues here on Cape Cod are groundwater pollution and our dependence on food grown elsewhere. DRY OR COMPOSTING TOILETS conveniently provide mitigation to both of these problems. See www.cape.com/cdt for more information on Cotuit Dry Toilet, our in-house composting/dry toilet for close to twenty years.
